Important DNS and Nameserver Changes!

As a Point DNS customer, we want to let you know that we've heard your feedback and are continuing to improve our service and reliability. We have deployed an all new fleet of DNS servers to replace our legacy cluster. These hardware improvements will realize significant performance improvements and stability.

In addition to this, our new DNS cluster is running the next generation of our DNS software stack. We've fixed several critical issues including issues with ALIAS record syncing, and several other reliability concerns. Yay!

The most important change you need to be aware of is the change of nameserver addresses and IP's. All of our new nameservers are now IPv6 capable, in addition to continued IPv4 support. All information can be viewed from your client area. You will need to update your NS records to some of the new nameservers (we recommend having 4), and also updating your nameservers that are configured at your domain registrar. If you are currently using custom nameservers, please be sure to point them to our new IP's, including any GLUE records with your domain registrar.

Our legacy nameservers will be phased out on July 19, 2021. For uninterrupted service, please ensure you switch to our new nameservers before that date.

Lastly, we want to let you know we've launched a new real-time server status page. If you're experiencing any issues, feel free to check our status page. If you ever see an issue is listed, you can rest assured we are aware and working on it!

If you have any questions, please open a ticket with our support team.
